Frequent Asked Questions
Which grades do you tutor?
I primarily tutor students in grades 2 – 5.
What days and times are you available to tutor?
I’m available for tutoring Monday through Thursday, after school and in the evenings. I am able to do some daytime tutoring as well. Please email me to check availability.
How do you meet with students?
I work with students in person and am happy to come to your home or meet at a local library. I also tutor via Zoom. Tutoring online is surprisingly versatile. I will sometimes send materials for you to print out ahead of time or drop materials off if you’re local. Mostly I use apps and programs online and share my screen so that the student and I can both see the material together. Also, digital white boards are really cool!
My child has an IEP. Can you still support him or her?
Absolutely! I am a special education teacher, so I know all about IEP plans and am happy to help support your child to reach their IEP goals.
Now that you’re working with my child, how do I pay you?
You can pay me via Venmo or check. Payment is expected at the end of the tutoring session. I know it’s easy to forget to pay when using an app, so if we arrive at the end of the week and I haven’t yet received payment, I will send a gentle reminder.
What is your cancellation policy?
I try to be very flexible with scheduling, and I understand that things sometimes happen unexpectedly. I prefer to reschedule rather than cancel a tutoring session, but should you need to cancel, I require 24 hours notice. If for some reason I am unable to tutor, I would prefer to reschedule, but I understand that schedules are tricky.
I’d like to find out more. How can I do that?
The best way to reach me is via email. Please drop me a note about what you’re looking for and I’ll return your email as soon as possible.
